DEFENCE DAY | Manual Poster design

I made this poster for a Pakistani Art competition, where the theme was
"Defence day - 6th September"
Pakistan marks September 6th, every year to remember the sacrifices of armed forces for the defence of the country, during the 1965 war with India. The intense fighting between the two countries took place between August and September, with both sides claiming victory after it ended on September 22nd with a UN-sponsored cease-fire.
HOW I MADE IT?

1. Splashed some milk tea on plain white poster sheet to give a faded muddy effect.

2. Burnt the edges of this rectangular sheet in order to add a war-like feel.

3. Drew a rough sketch of the idea, I had in mind, with a pencil.

4. Darkened the sketch of armed soldiers, in silhouette, with black marker and also made the airplane flying swoosh looking like a "6" in the air.

5. Painted the Pakistani Flag. Morphed the word "September" in it.
